Chinese government has implemented a range of initiatives which aim at increasing the share of residential solar PV generation in the energy mix. Following policy incentives are listed from 2009 to 2018, and mainly pivoted on financial incentives.
An employment of incentive and punitive policies The development of residential solar photovoltaic has not achieved the desired target albeit with numerous incentive policies from Chinese government.
Under other three dynamic schemes, government and resident players can form a stable strategy in PV diffusion and adoption. Chinese government has implemented a range of initiatives which aim at increasing the share of residential solar PV generation in the energy mix.
Due to the decrease of subsidies, the newly installed capacity only increases by 7.8%. By the end of 2018, the total installation of distributed solar PV generation is 50.62 GW as showed in Fig. 1, nearly 0.2% of the final energy demand in the Chinese domestic sector.
During the 12th Five Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China (12th Five-Year Plan) period, the combined annual power generation of wind and photovoltaic (PV) power in China accounted for less than 4%, annual growth of about 0.6% (Fig. 1). Fig. 1.
